My weekend,

Venue: Johor
Time: 6.00 p.m
Date: 11/06/06

It was a weekend filled with beer, beer and more beers…. On this particular day, I had attended my girlfriend’s cousin’s wedding. It has been while now since I attend on one of these occasions.I guess i dun have to bore you guys with the details since the wedding is a typical chinese routine thingy ie, singging by all the old ones, cheers (the all time fav - Yaammmmm Sengg.....), eating, drinking, drinking and more drinking. =)

Me and my gf at the wedding.

The bride and the lucky man.

Just a thought after the dinner, that I would prefer a much quieter wedding with classical music as background. cheers...

How to deal with smart remarks from client?

It was another day of work during the weekday when….

I requested for this particular workings from client which is required before I could proceed with my job. The workings is quite simple to prepare and the client is a lil reluctant to provide the workings (lazy in other words). If I could do it, I would have done it in the first place rather than requesting it from client!! But the problem is, we as auditors are not allowed to prepare workings which forms management’s representation. This will pose a self-review threat, ie, the objectivity of the audit may be at questioned.

And so… I made an appointment with client and discussed with her on the need for her to prepare the workings… and while discussing…….

Client: “The document is so easy to do!! Even my young daughter could have done it!!”

Hehe, the client had just made a mistake, coz my patience has it limits… and so my remarks…

“Oh good!! It’s a relief to hear that!! I guess you and your staff are much smarter than your daughter, so, could I have the workings within the next half an hour?”

I was about to prepare the next phrase which is “Or are you saying that none of your staff is as good as your daughter?”

Hehe… guess wat, I did received my documents within the next half an hour.

I believe many of you out there do face some hard-to-deal-with clients. Feel free to drop comments. But please, No NAMES. The purpose of this message is to help ppl out there to deal with tough remarks and hopefully serve as guidance to others on how to deal with them coolly. Take care, adios.

No idea on what to do on birthdays? Check out on the following crazy idea for a birthday!!

Date: 4 June 2006
Location: Hong Kong Dim Sum, SS2, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Time: 10.45 p.m - 12.00p.m
Whose birthday: Michael's (my housemate)

Da birthday boy (right and the furthest back) and the rest

At this restaurant, you'll get a gigantic free drink for any bithday occasions. All you need to bring is your IC and your friends (at least six ppl need to be around before they give you da free drink).

And believe me, it's real big....

apart from da drink, there a variety of fantastic deserts as well. I prefer the toast bread with majarine and the handsome amount of PEANUT BUTTER!! Taste good, but bad on weight.. (sorry, no picture on da food)

After a while of good chat and laugh... there was this moment when everyone was a lil quiet.... and thus, the following crazy idea was thought up.. who was the genius?? it was none other than... the accounting zorro!!. me larr..

How the game works:
Background: this is a drinking game. Just like Michael trying to drink the whole cup of water?

No, it's more than that, some thing similar to Fear factor challenge which you see on da TV.This drink can never be ordered from the counter or possibly anywhere else in the world. The group will decide the concoction of the drink!!

Step 1: To decide how many ppl will drink the concoction... We have decided that 2 will drink it. 1 is to cruel and lonely, so, that's why two.

Step 2: Mixture of the drink. Practically, we added everything we have on our table, plus PEPPER!! In the drink we had, cream, pepper, crumbs of bread, ice-cream - strawberry flavour, teh-tarik, majarine, sugar, mash potato and.... saliva... kekeke....

Step 3: Stir it real well...

Step 4: Deciding on the one to drink... Well, the selection process has to be fair. You can come up with any selection method of course. What we did was, we had 4 equal length straws and 2 shorter ones. I'll be holding the straws and they will each pick one. I can't pick of course since i know which straw is short or long. And the results is... the two girls in the group was the victim!!!

Step 5: DRINK!!

The fantastic duo finished drinking!!! You girls are fantastic. my sallute!!

Everyone went back at 12pm...

Note of Caution: for kids who are below 18 or above 18 but have a mind of below 18, please consult your parents before taking on the above challenge. What ever we had added are edible items and had no intention of poisoning anyone and i hope you'll do the same too if you were to follow the game above.

Again, DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME.....

Dinning out at Portuguese settlement (Melaka, Malaysia) .... a good place to dine and chill out. ^__^

This is a lovely place to dine out. It's located at "Portuguese settlement", Melaka. There are a couple of stalls there, but i prefer the one which is closest to the seaside. They have a variety of spicy and non-spicy seafood. Just ask around when you get to Melaka on the location of Portugese settlement. Sorry for not posting any food pictures... my phone camera ran out of memory.. Hope you guys like my recommendation!!

Making money over the internet?? - Beware...

A couple of months back, I have participated in a money making scheme.. All I have to do is pump in some money (which is not refundable) and you'll be getting an almost-guarantee-that-kind-of-thing handsome return. However, unfortunately, the site collapse. And i did not receive any money back.

I believe there are many out there who is thinking of making fast money... but have you ever heard of there is no free lunch? I guess after that hard lesson (USD500), I am really cautious with all these schemes. Usually these schemes seldom disclose their place of operation, details of their operation and you have to pump in some money which is non refundable. On top of that, they kind of guarantee you with a return which is so many times higher than any banks or financial institutions!!!

So to you guys out there, think first. Dun ever put your greed forward, coz that's where all these scammers will earn. Take care. Adios....

Interesting facts about handphones!! I know this is no ordinary auditor's stuff, but wanna share something more interesting.

3 useful tips for the users of mobile phone:

1) Emergency numberThe Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile is 112.If you find yourself out of coverage area of your mobile network and thereis an emergency, dial 112 and the mobile willsearch any existing network to establish the emergency number for you, andinterestingly ...this number112 can be dialed even while the keypad is locked.Try it out.

2) Locked the keys in the car? Your car has remote keys? This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone: If youhappen to lock your keys in the car and the spare keysare home, call someone on your cell phone. Hold your cell phone about afoot from your car door and have the other person at your home press theunlock button, holding it near the phone on their end. Your car willunlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is noobject. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someonewho has theother "remote" for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk).Editor's Note: *It works fine! We tried it out and it unlocked our car overa cell phone!"

3) Hidden Battery powerImagine your cell battery is very low, u r expecting an important call andu don't have a charger. Nokia instrument comeswith a reserve battery. To activate, press the keys *3370# Your cell willrestart with this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase inbattery. This reserve will get charged when u charge your cell next time.

Hi hi! Work has been really hectic for the pass couple of weeks plus..... this 56k modem dial-up makes things even more tiresome! Today I've learned something really cool about excel. =) I bet you guys must have known this already, but for those of you who is as "s...l....o....w...." as I am is worth hearing it!!

1. Group and ungrouping data
- This function helps to create a lil button on the left hand side of your excel spreadsheet which can easily expand and colapse the number of rows you want!!! Try it. The following is the steps you should follow. If you guys have something much faster than below pls do let me know!! hehe..

Step 1: Highlight the rows you wanna collapse and expand
Step 2: Click on "Data" at the top of your excel spreadsheet.
Step 3: Click on "Group and Outline"
Step 4: Click on Group.

Try it!! it's cool if you have very very long spreadsheet which makes navigation difficult!! Very handy for auditors though. To take away the lil button, perform the above except for step 4 where you click on Ungroup instead.

take care guys!!1
